August to August - Altamont

“Altamont” the latest single from August to August, now playing on M.P.R Chill.

 

 

“Altamont” is a single from August to August’s sophomore LP, “Slow Down”. The lyricless track mixes a Julien Baker inspired guitar riff with bright keys, steady hip hop drums, inaudible rhythmic vocals, and a lead saxophone line giving it a lofi feel.

August to August is a one man band from Spokane, WA that mixes acoustic drums with ambient synths, guitars, keys, vocal samples, and more to create an ethereal lofi hip hop sound. The artist is known for a live solo performance that involves switching between and simultaneously playing keys, a Roland Octapad, and an acoustic drum kit.

After a decade of drumming in and touring with various bands from the Pacific Northwest, Jayson Orth began this solo project. What started as an experiment to push himself artistically turned into something he began to share through his unique performance style.

August to August’s sophomore album, “Slow Down”, was released independently on February 9th, 2024 on vinyl and all streaming platforms. It was written, produced, mixed, and mastered by Jayson Orth.

New and independent artist Olesena is a Brisbane-based musician who composes catchy and groovy melodies. The track "Sleep Well" was released on August 15th 2023 and is taken from the EP entitled "Lucid Dreams".

Neptune Hypnosis - First degree of Impact

"First degree of Impact", the new track by Neptune Hypnosis, now playing on M.P.R Ambient.

 

 

"First degree of Impact" is taken from the third album by Neptune Hypnosis, released on January 18th, 2024. 

Neptune Hypnosis is an independent artist from Strasbourg, France. Passionate about synthesizers and electronic music, he is inspired by cinema, science fiction and video games to explore the different facets of ambient music. 

The album "Impact" is located between dark ambient and space ambient. The artist's goal is to imagine, through the 10 tracks of the album, the atmosphere in a distant space colony on the verge of being destroyed by a gigantic meteorite. Tracks with disturbing sounds alternate with other more melancholic ones in order to explore the inevitable and tragic destiny of the fragile human installation.

Casajack - Doopbeat

New track entitled "Doopbeat" by artist Casajack, now playing on M.P.R Chill.

 

 

An ethereal offering, the first single from newcomer Casajack evokes the warmth of sun-dappled island afternoons, dotted with melodic vocal samples, minimalist guitar lines and a laid-back groove.

Speaking on the track, Casajack said:

“I made ‘Doopbeat’ after an absolutely unreal summer in Ibiza last year. I wanted to capture the feeling of watching the sun dip behind the horizon each night, the blue sky slowly filling with a fiery orange. I hope I’ve bottled those moments with this track.”

Glen Neff - Eternal Awakened

"Eternal Awakened" the new single by Glen Neff, now playing on M.P.R Ambient.

 

 

Santa Fe musician and painter Glen Neff fuses his love of instrumental melodic improvisation with a steady hand in the digital studio. Blending spacial sound sculptures and globally influenced electronic music with melodic jazz improvisation. Ambient/chill is one definition given to this music, Neff's work will tickle that perhaps dormant spot in your ear canal in some pretty intriguing ways. While there is a heft of traditional African, Punjabi-Bhangra, Eastern European and Middle Eastern influence running through Neff's rhythmic and vocal-sample veins, Neff deftly adds more contemporary meat to the musical muscle, with layers upon layers of synth, live instruments, effects, drum programming and out-of-left-field genre inclusions. It takes a careful listen to sift the latter out, but it’s worth the ride if you want a mellow escape.
