“The Tired Ghost’s Iavnana” is an experimental ambient lullaby for a ghost and humans. The title comes from the Georgian word iavnana, meaning “lullaby.”

The track feels like sinking into pleasantly warm water after a difficult day, or finally breathing out after a period of tension. It is a musical reminder that even ghosts need rest.

Woven from melancholic melodies, noise and field recordings captured in nature, amusement parks, and aboard buses in different parts of the world, iavnana brings together traces of distant places and memories. It creates a space in which those memories can drift, settle, and gradually lose their weight, inviting the listener to pause, exhale, and rest for a while. “The Tired Ghost’s Iavnana” is part of an upcoming album exploring dreams and connections with the unseen world.

Helga Luzhnikova

Helga Luzhnikova is a Tbilisi-based sound artist, experimental composer, musician, and educator. She is currently working on the soundtrack for the video game “Yuha’s Nightmares” by Supr Experience and is a member of the musical projects “Krasnye Zori” and “Lurji”.

Her solo releases include “Memories Melodies", an archival album exploring her earliest encounters with sound, and a series of research-based singles. Her practice explores the relationships between sound, dreams, waking life, memory, and the subtle transformations of everyday environments. Working with noise, field recordings, and found sounds, she approaches sound as a language for expressing experiences that resist words.

Ambient artists Our Forgotten Future and dreamwarper have joined forces on "Jackpot Zero," a poignant, 10-minute collaborative composition featured on the release Fortune via Studio Obscura. The track offers a deeply human reflection on recovery, self-reclamation, and the quiet triumph of choosing real life over the artificial highs of chance.

While the title might suggest empty-handed defeat, "Jackpot Zero" flips the narrative. The song was conceived by dreamwarper as a testament to overcoming gambling disorder; reframing "zero" not as a loss, but as the ultimate victory of walking away

"Jackpot Zero is about recovery from gambling disorder," explains dreamwarper. "For me, the jackpot is always zero- go live your life. It means zero is a good amount, because I wouldn’t want that money anyhow. Basically, I’ve won because I’ve decided not to play anymore and enjoy life. It’s a complicated way to say, 'The best things in life are free.'"

That emotional arc is mirrored in the track’s layered, dialogue-driven production. The piece began with dreamwarper recording the foundational base melodies and centering guitar tracks; infused with his signature blend of atmospheric space, analog drives, and digital glitter. He then passed the session to Our Forgotten Future, who introduced rich, analog-focused drone elements, swells, and evolving textures.

By processing his layers through reel-to-reel tape machines and physical cassette loops, Our Forgotten Future added a warm, organic character to the arrangement. The physical resonance of the analog tape acts as a grounding counterweight to the initial melodies, sonically mirroring the transition from tension and compulsion to liberation, presence, and peace.

'Antes de olvidar los sueños al despertar' (“Before I Forget My Dreams Upon Waking”) traces the full arc of falling asleep, dreaming, and forgetting.

Tres Centurias, the ambient/slowcore project of Mexican artist Emiliano Arroyo, is preparing to release his debut full-length album, “Antes de olvidar los sueños al despertar”. The eight-track record is a conceptual journey through a single night of sleep from the first moments of stillness, through the N1, N2 and N3 stages of sleep, into REM, and finally the fragile instant of waking and forgetting.

Built around long, delay soaked tones and simple, patient melodies, the album was written and recorded in under a week using a single keyboard.

Tres Centurias describes it as music made first for himself, a way to quiet an overactive mind before sleep, before it became something to share.

About the track 'N2'

“N2” takes its name from the second stage of the sleep cycle, the point where the body begins to fully let go, the track is built on a simple, repeating melody layered beneath long, deep tones, designed to mirror that gradual surrender into rest. It is one of eight pieces that together map the album's arc from wakefulness to dreamless sleep.

Los Angeles-based composer and multi-instrumentalist Boaz Roberts, best known as a member of Switchfoot, has released "Limitless Sky," the debut EP from his ambient music project Lisinopril.

Shaped equally by Roberts' childhood in San Diego surf culture and his classical training since age three, Lisinopril draws on repetitive figures, slow harmonic successions, and layered canons that reveal their architecture over time. The project treats music as process and change as composition, work that asks the listener to slow down and simply listen.

"Exist in balance of opposites," Roberts says of the project. "Motion as a form of meditation and stillness. Perpetual succession of linear and yet non progressive melodies create a frame to rest your mind upon. Breathe slowly and fixate on pulse, natural resonances and time."

Djuphjärtad (deep-hearted) (released 7/17/26 on Native Cat Recordings) is a collaborative EP from Swedish singer Emma Lucia and ambient project Ship Says Om (Jenny Gillespie Mason). Friends in the Berkeley, California music community, the two artists began working together after Lucia invited Mason to help shape several of her songs into a more atmospheric, exploratory form.

The EP moves between two currents: intimate songs of romantic anticipation (“Keep Me” and “Feel Your Eyes”) and elemental sound meditations such as the Swedish-language “Ditt Hjärta” and the wordless “Water Prayer.” Mason’s production draws heavily from found sound—birdsong, wind, thunder, rustling trees, owls, and the steady rhythm of oars moving through water—woven with ambient synths, acoustic guitar, piano, and percussion.

The result blends Lucia’s luminous voice with Ship Says Om’s immersive sonic textures, evoking the quiet expanses of lakes and forests while tracing the emotional thresholds of new love. The music carries echoes of experimental ambient and modern composition, recalling the sensibilities of Stina Nordenstam, Hiroshi Yoshimura, Philip Glass, and The Books.

VPC Ensemble Channels the Cosmic Vertigo of New Parenthood into “Psychedelic Ambient Space Jazz”

A recursive meditation on human consciousness and universal patterns — the first half of a two-part psychedelic ambient space jazz record from the NYC collective led by Dash Lunde.

While watching a new life begin, Dash Lunde saw his own existence fold back on itself. This quiet vertigo of new parenthood serves as the creative spark for VPC Ensemble’s debut, Life Is a Strange Loop: Side A. Inspired by Douglas Hofstadter’s theories of consciousness, the record is a high-energy ritual of human presence, transforming existential questions into a "strange loop" of immersive, intentional sound.

“I was becoming a father while making this album, and there’s a vertigo about watching life begin—seeing the phase you just went through from the outside,” says Lunde. “It’s about cycles inside cycles: repeating yet always transforming, the same and yet completely unique.”

VPC Ensemble

VPC Ensemble is a living collective of New York improvisers that creates a textural sanctuary where ambient stillness meets the searching lyricism of space rock. By weaving together electric viola, flute, and samplers with wordless vocal textures and movement, the group evokes a universal mind imagining itself. This is psychedelic ambient space jazz built for the deep-listening lineage of artists like Laraaji and Harold Budd—a necessary ritual in an age of digital isolation.

The experience extends into immersive live shows where movement-reactive visuals and somatic bodywork invite the audience to harmonize with the ensemble. This recursive feedback loop of music, dance, and light transforms the performance into a space for embodied meditation and shared consciousness.

Ten Japanese gardens, ten pieces tailored specifically to the locations that inspired them.

A Forest is the experimental music project of Guillaume Frédéric. Following *Jardins, volume 1* (2025), this second volume was born of a journey to Japan: in every garden visited—from Inokashira in Tokyo to Cape Sōya at the northern tip of Hokkaido—microphones captured the ambient sounds: water, wind, birds, footsteps, and distant voices.

Upon his return, piano, strings, breath, and textures were woven into these soundscapes rather than layered over them. The music does not merely illustrate the setting; it enters and harmonizes with it, making space for the silence and sounds already present.

Each track bears the name of the garden where it was recorded—along with its exact coordinates.

A slow, intimate sound—blending neo-classical, ambient, and field recording—perfect for late-night programming, deep listening sessions, and experimental music broadcasts.
