Ambient artist and sound designer dreamwarper has unveiled "Moon Eyes," an intensely personal and atmospheric track featured on the album The Truth is Beautiful. Dedicated to his one true love, the composition serves as a sonic celebration of her beauty, empathy, and profound ability to accept love, balancing overwhelming emotion with ambient relaxation.
For "Moon Eyes," dreamwarper adopted a highly intentional creative workflow. Rather than building a soundscape and applying a meaning to it afterward, the process began with a specific emotional theme. By meditating on that core idea prior to recording, he was able to craft a more focused, cohesive piece that deliberately matched his vision.
"This song is dedicated to my one true love, her beauty, her empathy, and her ability to accept love," explains dreamwarper. "I wanted to make something that sounds like angels screaming; achingly beautiful and intense while also ambient and relaxing."
To achieve this delicate balance between intensity and serenity, dreamwarper drew structural inspiration from Brian Eno’s ambient classic An Ending (Ascent) as well as the album Indefinite Ends by Our Forgotten Future. Utilizing airy, poignant loops as a starting foundation, dreamwarper meticulously layered additional melodic details and intricate "ear candy" over the loops until the exact desired atmosphere was achieved.
The result is a piece that feels both massive and intimate; a focused meditation that anchors the emotional weight of The Truth is Beautiful.
