Jeweled Lotus and Jonathan Forney interweave peace provoking Native Flutes, Lovely Handpan Music, heavy bass and dubby beats creating a sonic tapestry celebrating seasonal rhythm.
It was a windy and slightly cool morning in May when Jeweled Lotus and Jonathan Forney began to jam around on Native Flutes and Handpan. Slowly a crowd gathered, folks laying in the grass vibing and cloud gazing. It had to be written into a sonic experience. Weeks later a studio session was arranged in the “Lotus Den.” Remembrance of a butterflies landing on the tip of a flute set the inspiration for this moving piece.
Jeweled Lotus is a healer, cultural facilitator,multi-instrumentalist and composer/DJ bridging the ancient and modern. His music and vibration connects people to the land spirit via sacred communication of dance; providing healing, humility, connection, transcendence, and bliss. Offering meditative and movement-oriented sound journeys blending elements of his Native American Style Flute playing and spiritual dance music. Being the resident DJ and founder of Ecstatic Dance Southern Maryland, Jeweled Lotus is adept at providing high-vibrational music that brings in the energies of ecstatic and spiritual movement.
An avid ecstatic dancer, Jeweled Lotus offers a range of sound from slow and shamanic, grooving and sacral, and meditative and awakening. A long-time meditator, healer, and musician. Balancing the creation of mystical music, a holistic psychotherapy practice, and being a partner, father, and friend, Jeweled Lotus provides eclectic sonic pallets that resemble his diverse life.
