Hailing from Canada, The State of Chill (Hal Halli) is a fresh presence in the chill music scene, offering a refreshing take on the genre. Through his music, he focuses on the simple joy of a good vibe: “It's about the vibe of your life, your thoughts, your connections, and everything you do. I aim to provide this positive vibe, allowing us to live in a state of grace, a state of chill."
With an extensive background in music since his teenage years, Hal draws inspiration from a wide range of genres such as lo-fi chill, hip hop, vaporwave, electro, and beats. His musical influences span from the Black-Eyed Peas and Billie Eilish to Eric Satie and Claude Debussy, but his sound bends closer to Psalm Trees, Flapjacques & sometimes Jay Z. Given these diverse inspirations, it’s unsurprising how well he weaves together eclectic-pop vibes, hiphop grooves, hints of world music, jazzy passages, and subtle vocal threads.
