Time is not a clock. It's not a number. It's a trickster — stretching and collapsing endlessly to the rhythm of our inner state.

TIME, the lead single from Ode's debut album 'The Whole Inside', is an animated meditation on what we all experience but rarely see: the way time expands in solitude, accelerates in joy, and stops altogether in moments of deep presence. It is, in the most literal sense, a song about the difference between the watch on your wrist and the life happening underneath it.

The track is a verse essay set to music. It opens with a philosophical refusal — time is not a straight line, it all curves out in the ether — and proceeds to dismantle, line by line, the inherited assumption that time is a thing we move through rather than a thing we make. The song's central argument arrives quietly, almost as an aside: there's two motivating forces — first there's fear, and then there's love — and both are bound to time, like below is to above. Fear stretches time. Love collapses it. The watch is irrelevant. The heart is the clock.

Written and performed by E.B. Schiller, with vocals from Grace Weber and production by Devin Gati, TIME is the first audio-visual release from The Whole Inside — an album-length project exploring the human experience through poetry and sound. The animated visual was directed by Vincenzo Lodigiani and Schiller and animated by Lodigiani, whose work has appeared on TED-Ed and The New Yorker. Mastering by Dave Kutch (Alicia Keys, The Weeknd, Mac Miller).

The full album, 'The Whole Inside' unfolds across fifteen tracks that braid spoken word, song, and ambient texture into a single sustained meditation on consciousness, presence, and what it means to be awake inside a finite life.
