Music Submissions
We always welcome music submissions. New music will receive initially enhanced airplay and details will be published to our News Blog and social media. Please read the information below to help with the process and ensure your music's maximum potential.
Information for Artist, Musician and Producers
The things we need to air your music, some of these may seem obvious but you'd be surprised how often they can be forgotten:
1 - The music file. We accept most formats but they must be 128kbs or higher. Preferably all the track information should be provided in the meta data of the file. We are happy to, and very often do, insert the data manually, but this takes time. However we need to know the Artist Name, Track Title and the Album/EP title. If the track is not from an album please state as such.
2 - Permission, by submitting your music we assume, until otherwise informed, that you are consenting to us playing your music on air. You may withdraw permission at any time by notifying us via email or our contact form.
3 - Album or Single Artwork/Cover. To publish and promote your music to our website or social media it's essential you provide the relevant image file. Resolution must be greater then 374x374 pixels. Again, by submitting you are consenting to your artwork being published.
4 - Press Release, to help promote your music we need information. We need to know about you and the story behind your music. Tell us about your musical past and your aims for the future. The best way to achieve this is via a Press Release, please also make sure the text in the release is copy and paste friendly.
Tip: When we publish your story to our News Blog please use the share links to help spread the word far and wide.
Enhanced Airplay
Enhanced airplay is at our discretion. If overplayed a track can cause listener fatigue and have a negative affect on your promotion. Enhanced Airplay does not ensure a place in our Weekly Chart, the chart is compiled based upon listener interaction, so obviously it can help, but is no guarantee.
Album Cover and Buy Links
On our website and also on some Radio apps, the Album artwork and sometimes a direct link to a retail outlet is generated automatically. For this to happen correctly certain criteria need to be met. While we can't advise as to how an individual Radio Directory functions in this respect, we can offer guidelines for correct functionality with regards to our website.
1 - Meta Data - This is data contained within the audio file, the fundamental aspects we require are Title, Artist, and Album. If a track contains none of these then we will add the information manually. This does take time and for accuracy reasons it's best done by the Artist or Label before submission.
2 - Album verses Single - Generally there is no provision to specify if a track is a stand alone Single or if it's from an Album. Often, entering the Track title as the Album name helps and then status can then be determined from the data base or retailer where it locates a match.
3 - Retailers - Our system will check several sources to locate an album cover and a purchase link. These sources are as follows - Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes and Last.fm, if your music is not available on any of these places then the data will not display accurately and will, most likely, link to a close match which will be of no relevance. This is why accurate meta data is important to maximise your potential when receiving airplay.
Sadly as Ambient and Chill genres are not mainstream (yet), this increases the chance of an incorrect match. We could disable this feature and provide the album artwork ourselves but this will eliminate any link to a retailer and a potential sale for the artist.
